About Karl
Karl was born on April 8, 1983 in Salem, OH. His family moved around a bit and he has lived in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, St. Louis and Atlanta. Anyone that knows Karl knows he is a HUGE Philadelphia sports fan, particularly the Eagles and Phillies. He attended St. Louis University before transferring to the University of Pittsburgh where he received his Bachelor of Information Science. Karl currently works for Del Monte Foods as a programmer analyst.

About Lisa
Lisa was born on April 22, 1984 in Pittsburgh, PA and has lived there her whole life. She was raised a Pittsburgh sports fan, but due to Karl's love for all things Philadelphia, she has grown into an Eagles fan (although he'll never get her to be a Phillies fan). Lisa graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with her Bachelor degree in Marketing. She currently works for the Pittsburgh Pirates as the Coordinator of PNC Park Events.

Boy Meets Girl
A mutual friend had introduced Karl and Lisa prior to them ever meeting in person. Karl was attending St. Louis University and Lisa was studying at the University of Pittsburgh so their communication was limited to phone calls and internet chats. During the fall of 2003, Karl decided to transfer to Pitt and they were finally able to meet in person.
In 2005, Karl, Lisa and the mutual friend that introduced them (Justine) decided to move in together. Their relationship was strictly platonic for the first couple of months, but after spending more time together realized that there was something more.
They officially started dating in November 2005 and have been together since.

On Bended Knee
It was December 31, 2008 (New Years Eve) and Karl had told Lisa that morning that they were going to dinner but wouldn't tell her where. All throughout the day, Lisa didn't think anything of it, since it was New Years Eve.
It turned out Karl had made reservations at the LeMont on Mt. Washington. We had a fantastic dinner with a table overlooking the city and fireworks to conclude the meal. After dinner, we headed home to ring in the New Year with friends. About halfway home, Lisa realized she had forgotten her purse, so they had to turn around and get it. Karl was getting upset about the lost purse (which confused Lisa because Karl is normally fairly laid back). With the purse retrieved (poor Karl had to crawl under a table full of people), they headed home for the second time.
Once at the apartment, Lisa opened up the apartment door to find a dimly lit room full of candles with rose petals covering the floor. At first, she was confused, but then quickly released what was going on when Karl pulled her into the apartment, got down on one knee and asked Lisa to marry him. After happy tears and a few "I can't believe this is happening" she said YES!
After happy calls to our families (who both already knew) we got to spend New Years Eve with our friends celebrating.
Lisa then finally understood why Karl was getting so angry about the purse. Before they had left the restaurant, Karl had called their other roommate (Missy) to light the candles and was worried about the place burning down!
